Just how wine bars are supposed to be - and then some!
Simply the greatest wine bar in the world - run by friendly, knowledgeable staff, with the most extensive, most fantastic, best value for money wine list ever discovered.
Food - awesome. Location - utterly convenient.
All in all, a totally star performer. Don't tell your friends - I'd still like to be able to get a table!

Forget your theatre booking - well you will if you come here first. Why? 'Cos you won't want to leave.......
This is THE greatest wine bar not just in London but in Britain! The wines are the best you'll find anywhere and at very reasonable prices for central London. If it's a special occasion order a magnum of cuvee Don Hewitson champagne, it's as good if not better than champers costing much more. Or be different an order a bottle of sparkling Shiraz, a burst of fun, a bubbly cold red. If that doesn't float your boat then browse through the world in the form of the C&B's wine list. I defy you not to find something to your taste, I have NEVER been disappointed.
Oh, and the food and service are superb and the atmosphere is the best.
Enjoy!

If you're looking for the perfect blend of sophistication and relaxation, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place. This centrally located wine bar is the perfect pre-theatre venue.
On offer is an extensive wine menu catering to a wide variety of tastes and the food is fabulous (particularly their salads).
Not only do you get great food, wine and a welcoming atmosphere, but the service is good too. I've been greeted with a smile and fast service every time.
Whether you're after a glass of Merlot to wind down after a day at the office or a fun night out with friends, this is the place to be.
You might want to book in advance, as the place gets quite busy in the evenings.

This is a very intimate and very popular restaurant which serves a good selection of meals and snacks which are very reasonably priced. There is a very good selection of wines and a very friendly atmosphere. Booking ahead is recommended as in the pre-theatre hours, this restaurant gets very full.

We usually go to London for New Year's Eve and spend it at the Cork and Bottle. Every year has been great. The food is fantastic and the customers are very friendly as well as the staff and owners.
If you are not there for NYE, they have the best ham and cheese pie I have ever tasted. Also their selection of wines is more than one can ask for, especially here in the United States.

Introduced to this atmospheric little bar by a friend and wasn't disappointed. Have been back several times since, due to the fantastic food (the cheese and ham pie appears to be over hyped, but tried it and i assure you it's not). As for the wine list, its fantastic. The great thing is going back to try all those fantastic wines you didn't get to try last time. Working and living in London, Leicester Square is somewhere that I avoid as much as possible but this place is a real little treasure. Fantastic, try it, trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Took some aussie friends and they just loved it. The hokey pokey ice cream was even better then the Tip Top brand at home in NZ ! The lamb was so tender it fell of the bone. Just the best and recommend to everyone.

We went looking for the cork and bottle after seeing the comments on the site. We weren't disappointed. I'm not huge wine buff but was well accommodated with an excellent choice of wine and advice from the bar staff.
A fantastic choice of food which provided some nice arguments about what would be best to eat. .A place you could easily spend all day in with a few friends. If they supplied beds you need never leave.
Go to this place but don't tell anyone else. If everyone knows it will spoil it.

This is a regular for me! Forget the main courses if you are a cheese lover and go straight for the cheese platter (£6.95) whilst choosing a bottle of fantastic wine from the HUGE wine list.
The atmosphere is great, and the staff don't hassel you to leave once you have eaten. You can't book a table after 6.30 pm, but it's definitely worth waiting up to half an hour for a table. Just order your bottle of wine and glasses up at the bar and take in the very French atmosphere!
