i think that the golden eagle is the best pub in town. it may be small but its freindly, with experienced staff and one of the best piano players for miles - mr fingers himself, playing on wednesday, thursday and sundays entertaining hundreds of people from all around london.
summed up, The Golden Eagle is a magnificent pub and is local.its on marylebone lane just off marylbone high street.
come in and have a drink, drinks is a ten but i cant put it in

What can I say!!! The Eagle is a pub worth visiting. It's got atmosphere, new friends...and a man named fingers.
Amid soulless city pubs this gem shines bright with character and charm. We got there around 6pm and it felt like we'd stepped into 'phoenix nights'; with a few members of the blue rinse brigade thrown in for free. Around 8pm people drawn from far and wide started to arrive; the atmosphere began to change, and tension began to mount....
I won't say too much about what happened next but needless to say there was story telling, singing and drinking. This pub needs to be experienced...and if you go make sure and sing a song with 'Fingers'
We went there for a leaving do; but come the end of the night leaving was the last thing on our minds.

My hubby-to-be loves this pub and the ales that they serve. Friendly staff. Good choice of wines although no rose! Food good for a lunchtime snack especially the sausages in rolls. A small pub so it can get very busy and smokey at any time. Thursday and Friday evenings are a laugh with Tony 'Fingers' Pearson at the piano - "Moon River" is my personal favourite and he will play requests. Everyone sings along. Good atmosphere - usual London pub prices. Worth a visit.

I can't believe that no-one else has reviewed the Golden Eagle yet! I love it, it's fast become my boozer of choice. Tucked away off the high street down picturesque Marylebone Lane the Golden Eagle is absolutely tiny but makes up for its small stature with a great atmosphere and beautiful period features. It really feels like a local as the bar staff know everyone either by name or by sight- and the beer is great - St. Austell's 'Tribute' Ale on tap stands out amongst the more normal selections. Most days it is pretty quiet until you get to Thursday night - singing night! A man, a piano and about 50 people packed in and singing such immortal lines as 'you can squeeze me gooseberries - but you can't touch me plums!' from 8:00pm until close. There's usually some more singing on Friday night too! Prices are standard for London, they don't do food but with all the retaurants around in Marylebone that's not a problem. Go now, and tell them I sent you - there should be a free pint in it for me if you do!
