Visited the Candy Bar over Easter with a couple of friends. The atmosphere was really good, and the staff really friendly, however it did not help me from making a prat of myself with a young lady called Bela. Maybe our paths will cross on July 2nd?

Went to the Candy Bar on Saturday night (2/4), it was great!!! Yes this is a gay bar, predominately for females, therefore fantastic to finally see some female strippers!! Yes, good looking ones too. The place was packed, drink prices have come down from the C.B crazy £7 a bottle for beer etc. Music was fairly good but they need to invest in more up to date music not "snap" and an extractor fan - too much cigarette smoke

We fell in throught the door on a wet saturday ealry evening, just hoping to dry out mainly, no -one else ther at 5.30 pm, so we sat and chatted and chatted some more and drank some more and by the time we had dried off it was 7.30pm and fairly buzzing with lots of different types of girls, some older, some not so older, but quite chilled and not pretentious, service was promt and friendly, drinks not rip off prices, we didnt stay for too much longer as we had just come up for the day to shop and had to get back, but what a good way to end the day, the bar probably got absolutely ram packed afetr we left, full of heavy drinking jimmy krankies, but thats not what we saw.

The Candy Bar is a bit of a lesbian meat market, but the ladies are of all different "types" (butchies, lipstick, super femme) so it's a good place to have a good mix. Basic cocktails, good beer, and really friendly bar maids.

A trendy bar where lesbians of all ages and backgrounds can mix. The bar staff are very friendly, the door staff are friendly and they have some of the best DJ's on the gay scene there every week. There is a great atmosphere in the bar a buzzy feeling which really gets you in the party mood. The upstairs is a place where you can chill with friends or the lady of your dreams, the middle bar is a place to check out the talent coming and going as well as a place to drink and the downstairs bar is where all the fun is. With the DJ's playing the best R'n'B, Hip Hop, Garage, Pop, Indie, House music around. Also on a friday and Saturday there are two great MC's which really get the crowd going. The wine and cocktail lists are great so are the shots. There is a good selection of soft drinks, spirits and beers at a reasonable price. Overall i think the Candy Bar is one of the best bars around. It is well worth the visit.
