LOvely and friendly. Great selection of drinks- the barman was obliged to whip up anything you asked for! The Bourbon milk punch is to die for and there's no lack of space in the comfortable seating area.

Music was off the hook- top choices.

The Lab can take me in as their specemin any day!

I'd like to say something smart and witty but nothing comes to mind to sum up its brilliance.

I can't get there as regularly as i would like, but each time i go, the staff are talkative and friendly (when they have time) and make cocktails up to my taste. I keep searching the cocktail bars and haven't found one better yet!

Out for a meal on my gf birthday and asked for the best place to get some cocktails. We were suitabley directed to the Lab. Very friendly staff and best Mojito I have ever tasted. Unfortunatley we had to leave just as the night seemed to be picking up (on a Tuesday and it had the feeling of the weekend). I'll defo be going back to work my way through the extensive cocktail menu and stay till the fat lady sings.

Thought I'd revisit this place over the weekend following their renovations (although I could not tell what had actually changed)

The bottom line with this place is; the cocktails are probably the best you will find in London, its small & often over crowded (thus can take some time to get served), music is often too loud BUT the cocktail list & cocktails are probably the best you will find in London.

I turned up late to a friends birthday drinks here, necked a strawberry caiphirinia, poured the left over crushed ice down my pants (I'd run from Leicester Square tube) then methodically set about testing their shots menu. The bar staff were delighted! I have a few quirky tastes - cocktail wise: I like my martinis with stolichnaya elite or crystal vodka and noilly pratt martini, olive and slightly dirty. The bar staff where attentive, polite and exceedingly competent. The atmosphere was brilliant, very laid back and the music was good (if a little loud). The door policy was even friendly! I've since been back for more... and more, but after all: The liver is evil and must be punished.

Oh god what a disappointment. Tiny, dirty, falling apart and although the drinks were well made, the service was the worst I've had in years. You couldn't pay me to go back. This place may have been the place to be in the 70's - its just a shame nobody has hoovered downstairs since!

LAB is something of a Mecca for cocktail bartenders and I'd been looking forward to visiting for ages but when I got there... We were seated by a waitress who passed me a copy of Douglas A's cocktail book that I planned to buy. She informed me that with the purchase of the book I had the right to a free cocktail. So I ordered my free cocktail and my bf ordered his drink (which appeared 10mins before mine). The bill was dropped off with my cocktail and had both drinks listed as well as a £4.87 service charge (the percentage included teh book price)...for two cocktails, one 10mins late, at 5pm on a weekday. When asked to remove my cocktail from the bill, the waitress got very aggressive and refused, demanding to know why (At least that was what I understood - doesn't anyone hire english-speaking staff anymore?). It turned out that it hadn't occured to her to tell me that there was only one free cocktail after I ordered one that wasn't it. Upshot - I left the book, waited for ten minutes for the waitress to return so I could pay the bill (sans service charge - I'll tip for good service and can't remember the last time I removed a service charge but don't intend to pay for bad service and rudeness) and stepping over the missing tile in the floor, made my way up the grubby steps to the main bar and left with the waitresses glare burning into my back. Absolute let-down.

nowhere else i'd happily fork out £18 for a cocktail, but the "zombie" cocktail is worth every penny!
