Having not been to Bank for several years, I returned for dinner last night and had a lovely evening. The atmosphere is very lively without being intrusive and the food was impressive (well cooked and decent portions). I don't think the menu had changed at all since my last visit but was none the worse for that. The waiter who took our wine and food order was well informed and friendly, the only criticism was the really annoying habit of so many waiters of constantly topping up the wine and water when not needed.

Hopefully it has upped its game but when I went a couple of years ago the staff couldn't have been less interested. The food was very slow, the waitress unapologetic and sullen - it's the only restaurant I have been to where I have felt completely unwelcome. The service was absolutely appalling. But perhaps we were just unlucky that day...
