Excellent views over London and a great place to visit with out of town friends.
Vast selection of champagne, very expensive.
Perfect place to take a loved one.

Had lunch there last week - fortunately venue was chosen by client otherwise I would have been embarrassed. The view is fantastic BUT the portion sizes are dire - they are, in effect, extremely expensive starters. We ended up ordering a third main course and be warned, if you decide to bulk it out with bread you will be charged £3 for two small slices.
Service OK but nothing special and don't believe you can take a long leisurely lunch - they actually started hoovering behind us!
Best bet is to book a table to enjoy the view and a few glasses of champagne and then go to a real restaurant.

Let down by limited lunch selection but a fine wine / champagne list and the best view in London. Excellent staff.

Great after work place to start the evening off. The views are fantastic and the atmosphere not loud and smoky like other London bars. Great for a bottle of champagne before dinner, but food expensive for small portions. Shame it isn't open on the weekend!

Spectacular views of the whole of London. Very exclusive as capacity not large. Must book - so fabulous for that special occasion! Champagne a must!

Fantastic views and a refined atmosphere. Portions are starter sized as its a champagne bar so don't come here for a main meal.
Instead, try sipping a Kier Royale (£8.50 when I went) before going downstairs to "24" the restaurant on the floor of the same name for something more substantial.
It is pricey but you are higher up than the London Eye. The view is fantastic and the geometry of the building and central kitchens mean you can see round 360 degrees of London.
Add up the price of 4 "Eye" tickets and you'll probably find you can easily afford a bottle or two of bubbly.

Fantastic location - you need to book well in advance, since it is quite small. The wine and champagne is reasonably priced given the 42nd floor view and the premium that might command. The food is all Tapas, and the irritating thing is how puny the portions are. So it's a good place top start the evening - but plan to satisfy any big appetites elsewhere.

My friends and I treated ourselves to a night out at Vertigo. We didn't eat and in a way I'm glad we didn't the two hours flew by as it was.
Yes it's expensive but show me somewere that sells cheap champagne in the City which als has a view as amazing as Vertigo.
We had an excellent evening and I can't wait to take the boyfriend.

I have been to Vertigo on many occasions as I work in the building and have taken lots of friends there at various times. The views (from tables 1, 2 and 3 - river view) are outstanding and the service is very good. However, last night, having booked table 1, 2 or 3 some time ago, we arrived to find that those tables were occupied. When I complained that I had booked weeks ago, I was told that you can only request tables, you don't neccessarily get them. The views from the other tables are just rooftops and not nearly so good so I would not go again unless they would confirm a specific table number.
House champagne at £40 a bottle was very good, if expensive, made even more so with the 12.5% service charge which was added to the bill!
