I think I might agree that if you are after a raucous night on the lash then Milk and Honey is not going to do it for you. And I presume that most of the negative feedback here is a result of people going in with certain expectations.

It is a calm, low-lit, easy-going place which requires people to behave in a civilised and respectful manner. They do not claim to be a restaurant - they only serve bar snacks, so do not expect the food to be the same as other Central London establishments. The real draw of the place are the fantastic drinks that they offer and take enormous pride in.

Yes, there are rules : shouting at the highest decibel, leering at women, and general lewdness is frowned upon, but people that come here do so because they know that loutish behaviour will be checked at the door.

Since last summer, I have brought a number of different groups of friends here and each of them (even the most skeptical and sneering) has had to conceed that a good night was had by all.

If you want to have a wild night, get p***ed up and indulge in monster portions of stodgy food don't come here, you'll be bitterly disappointed. And there really are plenty of other bars in Soho that can accommodate you.

NAFF NAFF NAFF... A PLACE FOR PARVENUES AND FOOLS. IT'S JUST NOT COOL, ALTHOUGH IT TRIES TERRIBLY HARD TO BE SO.

IF YOU GO HERE AND ENJOY IT THEN YOU ARE A TWIT

Whoever says that M&H has no atmosphere wouldn't know it if it hit them in the head - the place has amazing atmosphere and each of the rooms has its own.

Been a member since last Summer and never been disappointed - whatever size group I bring - everybody has enjoyed it.

The cocktails are unbeatable and I have only ever found the service to be exceptionally good. The only reason I can think of that someone wouldn't enjoy it is if they were looking for something different. Milk and Honey is for friends who want to enjoy fantastic drinks and have a conversation with each other. It's not a place for a wild loud night out or for people on the pull. Long may it continue as that's why it's members like it.

This place is not a restaurant per se. and nor do they claim to be. The food is poor and skimpy, produced without enthusiasm and with less imagination, presented without grace in a basement bar run without manners.

Do not even think of go out to 'eat' here.

Well, when I checked the reviews to see if it was worth going here, the marketing said it is supposed to be an upmarket place, run for those who prefer a quiet , desiger place with a membership after 11pm. According to the the club, memberships are really prized. It has rules such as men can't talk to women, no name dropping and other such rubbish. So you would expect a really politely run genteel sort of place, like a gentlemans club right??

errr.. no. I have found the management to be so rude, you do a double take to make sure you got it clear. I saw a member treated like nuisance and something to be ridiculed and ejected.... for no reason at all that I could see. Disrespectful and apalling.

The place is dank and atmosphere free..... like a social club for pathologists.

The food was really, really poor and the drinks only passable, despite all of the hype.

Above all its like an idea that someone had about a private members club having never been to a real one - and then advertised at people who haven't either - but really want to be told they are better than the rest of the world because... errr....

Don't speak too loud, don't have normal social impulses to chat to anyone, and do be very subservient to the management, who are you social superiors.

Get a life and find a proper club or bar....

Also found the place and the staff utterly rude. How does a bar manager assume he is superior to his clients and can inform them they didn't book!?

Clear that tables are given away as a matter of policy - booked twice both times there was no record of the booking and no sympathy from the staff.

Having been to this place with a member on the basis of the hype - members bar, with a secretive feel. So secret that it is advertised in every nook and cranny on the web and memberships so hard to get that after expressing a vague interest, the massive wait for an offer of membership lasted a couple or three days......

This is a loosers bar! The door staff are miserable, unfriendly and unwelcoming - the ambiance could only be enjoyed by those of a gothic tendancy - the service is execrable, the drinks over priced if sometimes good, the food skimpy and low quality.

Don't talk at normal volumes either - or expect friendly service. I felt like a nuisance cluttering up the design concept - and was glad to get out into the light of normality...

Maybe the place has gone downhill......

Perfect. Nothing else I can say about it really!

I can see why some people don't like it, if you go for dinner or for a wild night on the lash, then you will be bitterly disappointed.

For the person who said that the food was more of a snack... you would be right, it is only there as a bar snack!

You will not find better cocktails anywhere, and the atmosphere is fantastic. No ridiculously loud music to stifle conversation, and everyone is on their best behaiviour. If that sounds good to you then you'll love it, if it doesn't then go somewhere else!

Well, I thought that it was fab. The hosts were polite and attentive, the atmosphere was chilled and the music was just what I'd play at home if I wanted to relax. The food was rather nice, the cocktails even better and (most importantly in this hot weather) the air conditioning was first class. I went along as a member's guest and am considering joining myself.

You get what you give. They have rules because rules create a certain atmosphere. If you joined is because you liked the atmosphere...but it can only be mantained if everyone follows the rules.

If you book a table and can`t understand that bookings are being taken for a reason, and show up late without calling they will give the table away. If you are loud in a purposedly silent environment, and don`t allow the other guests to have a pleasant night, they will tell you off. Misrespect the hosts and you will find out that they are not servants, they will stand up to you.

Behave and you will, if relaxing and drinking amazing drinks with someone you want to speak to is something you like, enjoy a wonderful night, just like i always do there.
