Although the Alex is a member of the BRB chain of pizza pubs, it really feels like a local independent boozer. There’s a good mix of customers, and weekend lunchtimes are child friendly. I have been going there regularly for a couple of years now to sample their delicious pizzas & enjoy their alcoholic beverages. I initially stumbled upon the Alex as a location to watch football as they have a very large screen, and there always seems to be a good crowd whatever the sport or team.
Back to the wood fired pizzas, they are nothing short of heavenly although I am a little surprised at their recent menu change as there is a noticeable lack of mushrooms!!! The staff are always competent and friendly, on one occasion they had an flood of food orders & the bar manager came over to apologise for the delay & offered us a complimentary drink while we were waiting.
