Firstly I would like to say that you have the address wrong. It is in fact Leytonstone and not Hackney. The nearest tube station is Leytonstone. It has lost some of it's charm since the new owner took over. Thankfully he has taken down all those awful flags. The pub is situated in a fantastic location over looking Epping Forest, it has a small terrace at the back.

Since I've heard abouth the Sir Alfred Hitchcock Hotel 2 months ago, I have eaten there about 6 times.(I'm one of the lucky ones that live close by). I have tried the steaks, ribs, fish and burgers which was excellent and is great value for the size of the portions you get. It's not everyday you find a restaurant that serves a South African style 1kg steak, a 1kg pork ribs and a 1kg single beef rib where most of the custormers are able to eat everything!! Go Saffas!! Another bonus is that they serve South African beers, ciders, shooters, Don Pedro's and wine. The atmosphere is very lively and with great conversation, great food and good wine you can't go wrong.
