went to the hill just recently with a group of friends, saw the comments on this site and wasn't too sure about whether i would actually turn up to be honest but i went along anyway. it turned out to be a great night...it seems that a new chef has taken over the running of what must be the smallest kitchen in london!! the food was superb, will certainly go back.

I don't agree with the comments below! This pub has a fatanstic atmosphere, the food is great and the staff superb!

I agree. The staff are too busy mincing in front of the twentysomething clientele to actually care about the fact that you might like a drink before you reach middle age.

Do yourself a favour and go to the superb Steele's across the road instead.

Went here for some food yesterday. The interior looks nice, but does not make up for the appallingly bad service and mediocre food.

Ourselves and the diners around us had to repeatedly leave the table to ask for things (like drinks, food, the bill etc) because the waitress spent most of her time chatting behind the bar. She payed absolutely no attention to anyone.

The food was poor - mainly reheated roast dinner and cheap ice cream. Very poor indeed.
