Washington Hotel & Bar

The drinks are what you would expect from a pub-bar. It has a refreshingly wide range of beer but the luxury of cheap drinks isn't to be found here - it's in the average price band.
On the other hand, the food is excellent. It's very well priced and well prepared and the large tables are perfect for dining.
The atmosphere here is changeable. On bank holidays it's great (St Patrick's day was enjoyable here - not rowdy but a full house). However, going on a weekday or even a Friday night may be a little awkward. When it's quiet, it's very quiet. And the patrons tend to be cold towards each other. On nights with a DJ, it's nicer. But, although the DJ plays some good music, he looks out of place - a bit like someone's set up a table and stuck a deck on it and put it in the corner.
This is a good pub to have as your local but is best on holidays.
