Cubana
your comments review this restaurant
Having lived around the corner from Cubana on St Michael's Street for a year, Cubana pretty much became my local, and I'm fortunate to have spent a lot (perhaps too much...) of time there.
Whether it's a weekday happy hour, busy weekend evening with a live band and salsa, or a slobbery Sunday brunch, it's always a welcoming place. Cocktails are excellent (mojitos highly recommended) and there's a selection of reasonable wines by the glass and bottle. There's also Budvar on draft if you want to stay away from the ubiqitous Sol/Corona/San Miguel bottled beers.
The food is excellent and the menu is often changed to give regular diners a range of choice. It's a little off the beaten track, so you have to want to go there, which is no bad thing really. If you haven't been already, do check it out!
