this is without a doubt one of the most awful pubs i have ever visited in London. having had family down for the evening we popped in for a last drink and asked for a 'long vodka'. after being quizzed by the barmaid on what this was and describing to her that it was vodka, lemonade, lime and angostura bitters i was told, quite sharply, 'we don't have that'. even after saying, 'well most bars have angostura bitters, even though i know its a bit of a random drink' (ie in an attempt at being friendly) i was told - even more sharply - 'i just said WE DON'T HAVE IT!'. so i gave up. and then i was short-served my order and had to remind the girl i had asked for 2 Leffe... the girl then shouted at me 'NO YOU ASKED FOR ONE!'. at which point i noticed the angostura bitters behind her. awful. awful. awful. a nice building, but if this is the level of service, then it really needs to be sorted out to save what could be a lovely pub.

Fantastic pub offering loads of variety- a really interesting cross-section of the local community drink here, though it is definitely more gentrified than it was some time ago. Decent fresh food menu, good beer (try the Spitfire) and some interesting entertainment make for a fine establishment- the best in Stroud Green, apart from Chapter One (but then again, the do employ the lovely Joanna)...
