I had a great time there a few nights ago. It was my birthday and I hadn't even heard of the pub before then but some of my friends took me there. About 25 of us showed up and it was extremely busy but they made every effort to accomodate us and give us a good time. it's such a rarity to find a busy pub with such a personal touch. I'm definately a fan. Brilliant food, stunning pub, great atmosphere. There is such an extensive range in beers and wines that I wouldn't even be able to recommend anything but I will definately be back.

The Island Queen is a haven away from the high street. It has such a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that you could quite easily while away an entire day without even noticing. The range of beers is absolutely superb and the ales are very well looked after. The staff are very friendly and effecient and I have to say that the landlady is by far the sexiest I've ever seen!

I've known The Island Queen for years but I've never really gone to on a regular basis.

This Sunday I walked there with my partner Lee and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had had a slight make over.

The space is the same but it now has beautiful contemporary chandeliers which suit the ceiling hieght well.

we spent a couple of hours reading the papers, eating a great roast beef sunday lunch. perfect, we'll go again soon

Very chilled, laid back and cosy. The perfect place to read a paper and have a few pints on a Sunday afternoon. The Island Queen gets outrageously busy on Friday nights but is a calm haven of tranquility during the week. A large selection of premium Belgian beers and a range of standard lagers for the less adventurous. Also a superb selection of wines. This lovely pub has a non smoking area too and a pool table in the upstairs lounge. The efficient and friendly staff make you feel like you're at home. This is definately one of my favourite pubs.

What a shame there's not a category to score food! I've been twice for Sunday lunch and it's lovely! A beautiful pub, with sunny tables in the windows and a great atmosphere.

There's a regular menu (delicious mushroom risotto!) and on Sunday, a traditional lunch with either joint of the day (I'm told the roast beef is excellent) or vegetarian options (wonderful mushroom tarragon sausages). It is excellent value for such quality, at £7 ish.

The only drawbacks are the incredibly slow, but very friendly service (short staffed?) and that it tends to get quite smoky later in the afternoon - it IS a pub though.

Roll on smoke free London!
