The Mayflower

The food was so badly cooked that I was letd to complain. The gormless barstaff looked entirely perplexed and didnt know what to do with my complaint. I soon found out why when I met the rudest chef it has ever been my misfortune to come across. This British bulldog....anyway. She had the audacity to berate me by shouting at me in front of a customer. What ever happened to the customer is always right. I endeavoured to explain that as an Australian country girl I have had many opportunities to enjoy eating kangaroo,and having resided in London for the past 11 years many opportunities to enjoy eating it here. Well this chef put her hand up to my face and talked( shouted ) over me that her food was regional pub winner blah blah blah. Well the food was awful, the customer service level was appalling and of course my money was not returned. I have phoned up the Greene king management to complain and are yet to hear the outcome. Do not bother with this nasty little pub. Ther are many other authentic places where locals, and tourists alike can expect and get a satisfactory nay good standard of service..

If you like a good old English knees up with a warm and friendly atmosphere then you can't go wrong with the Mayflower. If you are really lucky you might bump into the number of film crews that use the pub regularly for soaps and dramas.... I would strongly advise you to try the steak and cheese pie as it is out of this world.....
