Cave Austin

Used to go to Cave Austin quite regularly when it first opened, and like anything it's just not the same anymore. Blackheath's close proximity to less desirable neighbourhoods means there's been an infitration of the less select crowd - not that it was 'snobby' before, far from it, but last time I was down there some girl was throwing up in the loos for over an hour and the bouncer had to break up a fight between a couple of tanked-up wide-boys.

Still nice for dinner if you go during the week, but Saturday nights are just not worth the hassle down here. Really nothing special.

Ive been frequenting Cave Austin for 2 years now, Im there every Friday & Saturday night, Ive been to clubs in the West End & they are just full of pretensious wannabes, this place is full of friendly polite mature people, it has a great relaxed atmosphere & the DJ plays an assortment of quality tunes from the 80's & present chart tracks, as well as a nice measure of R'n'B, the drinks are reasonably priced at £3 for a Smirnoff Ice & £2.75 for a Becks, there is a nice Cocktail Bar upstairs & a busy Dancefloor in the basement, local buses are 2 minutes away as is the local cab station, all with in crawling distance! every weekend im here, it is the place to be, a lot better now under new management as they have cut numbers down in the club so is now more comfortable. Staff more friendly, good atmosphere, good music and good food before you start drinking

I visit Cave Austin often, always a nice group of people and for the more stylish, the cocktail bar upstairs. Great on a hot summer night in the garden.
