This place has just been re-fitted, it's owned by the same chain who run The Railway Tavern just down the road. It shows. That said, it's a nice enough place for a drink, the food's nothing special; like most of these places it's less chef de partie and more chef de ping.
The fact is this place will never go bust because of the huge crowds it draws in the summer.

If the sun is shining and you`re in the Lewisham,Greenwich,Blackheath area,this is a cracking pub to visit.It has the biggest bar area in London.It`s called Blackheath Common.Sod staying inside a pub on a hot day,everyone goes outside and sits on the grass.Fancy a game of football? Then bring your own ball.The kids can sail their boats on the nearby pond.Average selection of beer and food but a great place to chill out with hundreds of like souls.
