From one MD to another....

The Castle is my local and I thank the lord for it!

The staff are super friendly and Clarence (the dog) has never howled once when I have been in there. Perhaps 'MD' has a particularly sour face that upset him somewhat?

The food speaks for itself, half succulent roast chickens, delicious beef and homemade fish fingers.

Funky, happy, 'don't-give-a-damn' grooves make it a great place for a shuffle (should the mood take you) on a Fri and Sat also.

Go there now and tell them MD (no. 2) sent you!!

Don't listen to MD. The Castle is great. Nice food, reasonably priced, friendly staff and resident dog. It is the best place to go out in Camberwell.

We were really disappointed when The Snug Bar closed down, but I can definitely say that The Castle is an improvement on its predecessor, and a fantastic addition to Camberwell and Peckham.

Being tubeless, this part of the South can be a bit of a wasteland when it comes to nice bars, but The Castle wouldn't be out of place if you moved it to Clapham or Islington.

The decor is stylish, the drinks reasonably priced, the food is great and I have always received warm and friendly service. The Castle is really nice if you fancy going for a mid-week glass of wine and a gossip, and on Friday and Saturday becomes a lively, dancey venue. I would be happy to recommend this bar to anyone.

The food was unimpressive and the staff were quite happy to have their smelly dog howling and wondering around the diners.

I love this bar, great music - it's a pub but 'NOT'.

Check it out if you are down south...
