I'm a big fan of Lupo's. I've been a big noise in advertising for quite some time now so I often go here to hook up with friends and colleagues like my old mucker Trevor Beattie who calls me up whenever he needs advice. It's located right in the heart of 'ad land' so couldn't be more convenient. What's more, it's a fun crowd and the JD & Coke's are competitively priced. I do have a couple of gripes though. One is parking: I drive a Porsche Boxster S (I call it my Beast) and I just cannot find a space to park the Beast for love nor money. The second is the bar stools. I don't know what it is but I just find them very unstable. On more than one occassion I've ended up falling off and have found my self either prostrate on the floor on top of one of the Eastern European barmaids. For a man of my stature, this can be quite embarrasing and I have written off more than a couple of Paul Smith suits in the process. Thirdly, the floors seem to be rather uneven as I frequently have great difficulty leaving the premises on my feet and have often required the assistance of the very efficient bouncers. Still, it's a great night out and if you're in the area late one night, please do pop in. You'll most likely find me in the far corner sitting in a pool of my own vomit.

My first grumble of the night was the warm beer. I tried four different bottles, all of which were warm, although the bar staff didn't seem too bothered about this and the warm beer continued to be served all night.

Secondly, after being seated for over an hour with a group of friends, we were TOLD by the rude security guard that we had to stand because the small table we were seated at was reserved, and although there was no sign on the table, it didn't matter. A friendly explanation and a few manners would have gone a lot further than brash rudeness. I guess the security guard missed his Customer Service class at bouncer school.

And finally, after buying a shot of tequila for my friend on his birthday, the rude bar girl put the drink next to the person standing beside me, and when I turned round the shot had been stolen (probable by accident). I explained this to the bar girl as she handed back my change but she said that it wasn't her problem. I explained to her that I hadn't seen the drink, but it still wasn't her problem. Once again, she must have missed her customer services class at bar girl school.

This is the first time I have left a non positive comment on a website and that’s because I felt cheated buying over priced warm beer in a place of rude employees. I hope this prompts the management team to look at their staff training a little more closely as the venue is really cosy, although I won't be going back to re-evaluate.
